SDSC Summer Institute 2025
Session 4.2 Deep Learning - Part 1
Date: Wednesday, August 6, 2025
Summary: Deep learning, a subfield of machine learning, has seen tremendous growth and success in the past few years. Deep learning approaches have achieved state-of-the-art performance across many domains, including image classification, speech recognition, and biomedical applications. This session provides an introduction to neural networks and deep learning concepts and approaches. Examples utilizing deep learning will be presented, and hands-on exercises will be covered using Keras. Please note: Knowledge of fundamental machine learning concepts and techniques is required.
