Internship Opportunity for Undergraduate Student Volunteers
We are looking for undergraduate volunteers to assist during the sessions for our two Summer Institutes. Volunteers may assist during both sessions:
- The CIML 2026 Summer Institute (https://github.com/ciml-org/ciml-summer-institute-2026/blob/main/ciml-si26-internship.md).
- CIML Dates: Tuesday, June 23, 2026 - Thursday, June 25, 2026
- The SDSC Summer Institute 2026 (see agenda) (https://github.com/ciml-org/ciml-summer-institute-2026/blob/main/ciml-si26-internship.md).
- Thursday, July 23, 2026 – Tuesday, August 4, 2026 (see the agenda for the day-by-day schedule).
Volunteer responsibilities
- Review the session content in advance.
- Be present in the room during the session.
- Walk around and help attendees during hands-on tutorials if they get stuck on steps.
We would like to have a different student for each session.
Internship credit
Volunteers will receive internship credit for the hours they work and an SDSC Internhip CCR for thier official transcripts (note CCRs require 30 hours of effort).
Requirements
Students are expected to be familiar with:
- Running Linux commands at the terminal/command line
- Using git commands at the terminal
- Python and basic HPC concepts experience welcome.
